Sherwin Williams: Color Mixology - incite*

Color Mixology was the second time that I partnered with incite* to create an interactive experience for Sherwin Williams at the AIA conference. The task was to create an experience that invited the user to play with mixing color on a larger than life scale. I used Touchdesigner to build the generative system that integrated a LIDAR rangefinder for “touch” input on the LED wall to create a real-time fluid simulation. The experience allowed users to choose from multiple types of fluid, play with laying down “paint” fluid in any color of their choice, and then pick a color from the resulting image that was added to a collection of all the results that grew through the course of the event.

I worked with Incite to integrate with their back end system that was able to scan in each new user via RFID bracelet and trigger the start of the experience . The RFID allowed for the experience to be personalized to each user. We were able to integrate the user’s name into the experience itself, and have our system generate personalized printed takeaways, as well as shareable video files that were emailed to each attendee seamlessly.
